Anna: You know, I am from the country and sometimes I miss it. But I really like life in the city! I love the city. Oh, look. Someone lost a bag. Maybe it's theirs. Excuse me. Is this bag yours?
아나: 아시다시피, 저는 시골 출신이고요 종종 그립기도 해요. 하지만 도시 생활을 정말 좋아합니다! 도시를 사랑해요. 오, 보세요. 누군가 가방을 잃어버렸군요. 저 사람들 것일지도 몰라요. 실례합니다. 이 가방 당신 것인가요?

Dr. Jill: No. It's not mine. It might be hers.
질 박사: 아뇨. 제 것 아니에요. 저 여성 분 것일 수도 있죠.

Anna: Excuse me. Is this bag yours?
아나: 실례해요. 이 가방 당신 것인가요?

Sarah: No. It's not mine. It might be his.
사라: 아뇨. 제 것 아니에요. 저 남성 분 것일 수 있겠네요.

Anna: Thank you. Hello. Is this bag yours?
아나: 고맙습니다. 안녕하세요. 이 가방 당신 것인가요?

Phil: Yes, that's mine. These are all my travel things. Thank you, thank you!
필: 네, 그것 제거예요. 모두 제 여행 짐들이죠. 고맙습니다, 감사해요!

Anna: Are you okay? You seem ... nervous.
아나: 괜찮으세요? 당신… 긴장한 것 같아요.

Phil: Well, this is my first visit to Washington, D.C. I'm from a small town in the country. I feel a little lost.
필: 음, 워싱턴 DC에 처음 방문하는 거예요. 저는 작은 시골 마을 출신입니다. 약간 길 잃은 느낌이에요.

Anna: I am from the country too! And I understand. When I first came here, I felt lost ... all the time.
아나: 저도 시골에서 왔어요! 그리고 이해합니다. 처음 여기 왔을 때, 저도 길 잃은 느낌이었어요… 항상요.

Phil: So, do you like living in the country or in the city?
필: 그래서, 시골에서 사는 게 좋아요 아님 도시에서 사는 게 좋아요?

Anna: I like to live in the city.
아나: 저는 도시에서 사는 게 좋아요.

Phil: Why?
필: 왜죠?

Anna: The city is exciting! It has more culture than the country. There are many museums and restaurants. Every night, there is theater and music. And, there are more jobs. That is why I'm here.
아나: 도시는 흥미진진해요! 시골보다 문화가 더 있죠. 박물관과 식당도 많아요. 매일 밤 공연과 음악이 있고요. 그리고, 일자리도 더 있어요. 그게 제가 여기 있는 이유죠.

Phil: Well, I agree. There is more culture in the city and there might be more jobs. But the country has more nature! It's peaceful and beautiful. There are more trees and mountains. The air is clean. You can go hiking and camping. The city is not beautiful. It's noisy and dirty.
필: 음, 동의해요. 도시에 문화가 더 있고, 일자리도 더 있을 수 있죠. 하지만 시골에는 자연이 더 있다고요! 시골은 평화롭고 아름다워요. 나무와 산이 더 있죠. 공기는 깨끗하고요. 하이킹과 캠핑을 할 수 있어요. 도시는 아름답지 않아요. 시끄럽고 더럽죠.

Anna: I disagree. I think all the different buildings are beautiful. And I like to watch all the different people.
아나: 저는 동의하지 않아요. 각양각색의 빌딩들도 아름답다고 생각해요. 그리고 각기 다른 사람들을 지켜보는 것도 좋아요.

Phil: That's another thing that is different. People in the country are friendly. They always say "hello!" Here, no one says "hello." I think city people are rude.
필: 그게 또 하나 다른 점이군요. 시골 사람들은 친절해요. 언제나 “안녕하세요!”라고 말하죠. 여기선요, 아무도 “안녕하세요”라고 말하지 많아요. 도시 사람들은 무례하다고 생각해요.

Anna: Well, I agree. Country people are friendly. But I don't think city people are rude. I think they're just busy.
아나: 음, 동의해요. 시골 사람들은 친절하죠. 하지만 도시 사람들이 무례하다고 생각하진 않아요. 그들은 단지 바쁠 뿐이라고 생각해요.

Phil: That's a good point.
필: 그거 중요한 점이네요.

Anna: Look at me. I live in the city and I said "hello" to you.
아나: 저를 보세요. 저는 도시에 살면서 당신에게 “안녕하세요”라고 말했잖아요.

Phil: But you are from the country.
필: 하지만 당신은 시골 출신이잖아요.

Anna: I have an idea. Let's say "hello!" to people -- to many people!
아나: 제게 아이디어가 있어요. 사람들에게 “안녕하세요!”라고 말 하자고요, 많은 사람들에게요!

Phil: What? Why?
필: 뭐라고요? 왜요?

Anna: Well, if we say "hello," maybe they will say "hello" to other people ... Hello!
아나: 음, 우리가 “안녕하세요”라고 말하면, 그들은 다른 사람들에게 “안녕하세요”라고 말할 거예요… 안녕하세요!

Phil: ... and they will say "hello" to more people! That's a great idea! I'm glad youfound my bag.
필:… 그리고 그들은 더 많은 사람들에게 “안녕하세요”라고 말할 거고요! 그거 훌륭한 생각이네요! 당신이 제 가방을 찾아줘서 기뻐요.

Anna: Come on. Let's go say "hello" to people.
아나: 자. 가서 사람들에게 "안녕하세요"라고 말하자고요.

Anna: We don't have to agree with people. They have their opinions. We have ours. And as we like to say, you can always agree to disagree! Until next time...! Hello!
아나: 우리는 사람들에게 동의할 필요가 없습니다. 그들에겐 그들의 의견이 있으니까요. 우리에겐 우리 것들이 있고요. ‘차이를 인정하자’고 말할 수 있는 거죠! 다음 시간까지…! 안녕하세요!
