Lesson 17 금요일에 시간 있어요? Are You Free on Friday?

Anna: Hi, there! Things are going really well in Washington, D.C. This city is very interesting, I really like my job, and I have some good friends! Speaking of friends … I see one now! Marsha! Hi!
아나: 안녕하세요, 여러분! 워싱턴DC에서 모든 게 잘돼가고 있어요. 이 도시는 매우 흥미로워요. 저는 제 직업을 정말 좋아하고요, 좋은 친구들도 가졌습니다! 친구들에 관해 말하자면요… 지금 한명 왔네요! 마샤! 안녕하세요!

Marsha: Hi, Anna. What’s going on?
마샤: 안녕하세요, 아나. 어떻게 지내요?

Anna: Not much. How about you?
아나: 별일 없어요. 당신은 어때요?

Marsha: Busy as usual. Hey, do you wanna see a movie with me?
마샤: 바뻐요 늘 그렇듯이. 아, 저랑 영화보고 싶지 않아요?

Anna: Sure! I never have time to see a movie. When?
아나: 물론이죠! 영화 볼 시간이 없었거든요. 언제요?

Marsha: Are you busy this Thursday at 6pm?
마샤: 이번 목요일 오후 6시에 바빠요?

Anna: Let’s see …. I’m busy. I am going to tap dance with my friends Thursday night.
아나: 어디 봅시다… 바빠요. 목요일 밤에 친구들과 탭댄스를 할거예요.

Marsha: Tap dancing? That sounds fun!
마샤: 탭댄스? 재미있겠군요!

Anna: I’m still learning. But it is fun!
아나: 아직 배우는 중이에요. 하지만 재미있죠!

Anna: Are you busy on Friday night?
아나: 금요일 밤에 바쁘세요?

Marsha: Yes. Friday nights are when I visit my parents.
마샤: 네. 금요일 밤은 부모님을 방문하는 시간이예요.

Anna: What do you and your family do together?
아나: 부모님과 함께 무얼 하나요?

Marsha: We always eat dinner together and sometimes we play board games.
마샤: 우리는 항상 저녁을 같이 먹어요, 그리고 때때로 보드게임을 해요.

Anna: Playing board games is fun, too! The word game Scrabble is my favorite.
아나: 보드게임 하는 것도 역시 재밌죠! ‘스크래블’ 단어 게임이 제가 가장 좋아하는 거예요.

Marsha: I like Connect Four!
마샤: 저는 ‘커넥트 포(같은색 칩 4개를 한줄에 이어 놓는 게임)’를 좋아해요!

Anna: I’m not busy Monday night. Are you?
아나: 월요일 밤에는 안 바빠요. 당신은 바쁜가요?

Marsha: I am busy on Monday night. I’m going to jog in the park with my friend. Do you jog?
마샤: 저는 월요일 밤에 바빠요. 친구와 공원에서 조깅할거예요. 조깅 하세요?

Anna: Oh! I always jog. Well, sometimes I jog. Okay, I never jog. But I will try because it is good for you.
아나: 오! 언제나 조깅해요. 음, 가끔 조깅합니다. 좋아요, 조깅 절대 안 해요. 하지만 시도해볼 거예요, 하는 사람한테 좋은 거니까요.

Marsha: I always feel great after I jog.
마샤: 조깅한 다음에는 언제나 기분이 좋아요.

Marsha: How about on Wednesday night?
마샤: 수요일 밤은 어때요?

Anna: Wednesday night I am not busy. Oh, no, wait. This Wednesday night I will be busy.
아나: 수요일 밤은 안 바빠요. 어, 아니야, 기다려보세요. 오는 수요일에는 바쁘겠네요.

Marsha: What are you doing?
마샤: 뭐 하시는데요?

Anna: I’m going to teach children how to play the ukulele.
아나: 아이들에게 우쿨렐레 연주하는 법을 가르칠거예요.

Anna: Now, children, play “C.” Good. I like your “C.”
아나: 이제, 어린이 여러분, C코드 연주하세요. 잘했어요. 여러분 C코드 치는 거 좋네요.

Marsha: The world does need more ukulele players.
마샤: 세상은 더 많은 우쿨렐레 연주자가 필요하죠.

Anna: Marsha, it looks like we’ll never have time to see a movie.
아나: 마샤, 우리 영화볼 시간이 전혀 없을거 같아 보이네요.

Anna: Wait a minute. Are you busy now?
아나: 잠깐만요. 지금 바빠요?

Marsha: It’s Saturday afternoon. This is always when I do my errands.
마샤: 토요일 오후잖아요. 이 시간은 언제나 제가 집안일 하는 때에요.

Anna: Okay, but the new Star Wars movie is gonna start in 30 minutes.
아나: 좋아요, 하지만 새 ‘스타워즈’ 영화가 30분 안에 시작할거예요.

Marsha: I’ll do my errands on Sunday. Let’s go!
마샤: 집안일은 일요일에 할래요. 갑시다!

Anna: Most days of the week, people are really busy. But it’s important to find time to be with your friends!
아나: 주중 대부분 사람들은 정말 바쁩니다. 그러나 친구와 함께 할 시간을 찾는 것은 중요해요.
